Greg Connors

Born in 1974 Greg was determined to play professional baseball and enjoyed careers with the Seattle Mariners and Long Island Ducks before becoming a hitting instructor

SUCCESS FROM THE START

Greg was born and raised in Smithtown N.Y. and was an All-League and All County Player for Smithtown West. Greg was elected into the Smithtown Hall of Fame in 2008

1996-2006
COLLEGE & PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL

Greg was a 4-year starting catcher for Dowling College. He was All Conference for all 4 seasons, along with being named American Baseball Coaches Association Northeast Region First Team and ECAC South All Star. He finished his senior year batting .375 and 10 home runs. Greg was elected in the Dowling College Hall of Fame in 2001.

Signing with the Seattle Mariners in 1996 as a free agent Greg had numerous accolades.
• Seattle Award winner 2002- This award was given to only 1 player in the Seattle Mariners organization a year. The award stands for Skill-Effort-Attitude-Tenacity-Teamwork-Loyalty-Enthusiasm
• California League All Star 1999 (Catcher)
• Led Lancaster Jethawks (California League) in RBi’s with 84 and second in HRs with 16
• He was a jack of all trades playing Catcher, Third, First, SS and outfield in his career
• Won Gold Glove in AA with New Haven Ravens at 1st base

LIFE AFTER PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL

As someone who has been teaching baseball to kids since 1996 Greg breaks down the swing to all different ability and cognitive levels. His passion for the game and educating players is conveyed through his lessons. Using a step by step approach, educating the students on why and how their swing works gives them the knowledge to self-correct over time.

When Greg is not working, he is spending time with his wife Mary and his 3 children; Gregory, JJ and Emily.
